Esri Follow-along Workshop: Introduction to ArcGIS Field Maps
ArcGIS Field Maps is an all-in-one app that uses data-driven maps to help mobile workers perform mobile data collection and editing, find assets and information, and report their real-time locations. It enables mobile workers to bring maps and data into the field to support different types of field operations across many industries. In this follow-along workshop attendees will learn Field Maps basics such as setting up a field map, installing/using the Field Maps App, as well as creating and using a Smart Form.

This is a "Bring your own Device" Workshop. You will need to download, install and license ArcGIS Field Maps on your phone or tablet prior to the workshop.
  • Please refer to the ArcGIS Field Maps system requirements before installing ArcGIS Field Maps on your device: ArcGIS Field Maps System Requirements
  • If you are an existing ArcGIS user, currently on maintenance, have your Administrator assign you a Field Maps license.
  • If you are a new ArcGIS user, you can download a free trial version by signing up here: ArcGIS Trial
  • If you do not have a license, Esri may be able to provide you with a temporary one.

Note: “Follow-Along” Workshops are live, with student-provided (i.e. “bring-your-own-device") laptops or mobile devices. The presenter will deliver content, then lead the attendees in several hands-on exercises. Presenters will remain in the front of the room, for health and safety reasons.

Workshop: Confidently Collecting High-Accuracy Field Data: A Hands-On Training
No fee to participate; advance registration required; capacity 35. BYOD.
Are you interested in high-accuracy field data collection? Whether you’re a novice or skilled field data collector, this hands-on technical workshop teaches modern techniques to collect authoritative field data. Modernizing your GIS system of record with quality data improves organizational effectiveness. High-quality data promotes better decision making and facilitates a maintainable store of information. We’ll start training with the theoretical foundations of geodesy and teach participants to confidently use GPS/GNSS hardware. The presentation uses Esri’s ArcGIS ecosystem of mobile field data collection apps for this learning opportunity. At the conclusion of this workshop, we put your learning into action by collecting sample field data in real-world conditions. GPS hardware is provided.
